When the events were a celebration of the community and an opportunity to give back? When the music was the centerpiece, not drama, ego and politics? When you would experience new DJ talent and hear innovative sounds from around the world, not the same 4 or 5 DJs at every festival and every year? We certainly do! And we’ve decided that its time to revolutionize the way parties are progressing and “take back the circuit!” Too often in recent years have we been turned away from events we paid for in advance, or been ripped off by promoter schemes surrounding drink tickets and misleading advertising. The events that should be the most reasonably priced are often the most outrageous, guests of a hotel are asked to pay to attend events at its own poolside, and DJ crony-ism and unfounded “loyalty” obligations have led to an uninspired and stagnant musical experience, where we hear the same handful of DJs over and over again. What’s even worse is the absolute disregard for the things that the circuit was intended to be about, with for-profit ventures dominating the landscape and giving almost nothing to charity. Many of the original circuit-goers have simply been unwilling to support these mutated representations of what they recall as a storied and noble past. They’ve shied away from the circuit, either largely or entirely, and left the dialog centered on the imminent death of a scene which is slowly fluttering towards extinction. When a weekend pass costs $600 and there is very little value realized in its price, the greed not only damages the vitality of the current scene, but it effectively destroys the source of a future scene, by exceeding the budgets of the new and younger crop of party-goer. We love the music and the cause and the community too much to simply sit and watch and invite you to join us in a REVOLUTION! This April 9th & 10th, in Palm Springs, Circuit Cadence is taking action to revive all of the good that’s been missing from some events, and we’re just days away from being able to share the details regarding a drastically lower ticket price than many of today’s parties, a return to charitable giving from the proceeds, and a fresh roster of DJ talent. In just the planning of these events there have been notable changes enacted by other parties on the landscape, so we’re excited for even greater progress yet to come!
